Deputy for Iraq Accuses U.S. Embassy to Work on Emptying Iraq of Christians

Accused the MP for the mass Rafidain parliamentary Imad Youkhana, the U.S. embassy in Iraq to work on emptying the country of Christians, calling on them to stop granting visas to travel to America, as demanded by the Iraqi government to intervene and address this situation. Said Youkhana in a statement received “Alsumaria News”, a copy of it, that “the U.S. embassy in Baghdad and Erbil working on emptying Iraq of Christians through the temptations and facilities visas to travel to the United States under the kinds of excuses,” noting that “the continuation of travel Christian families in this way alarming large, but is empty Iraq is an important component, a condition unacceptable and the phenomenon of negative and unacceptable.”
And explained that “the granting of visas from within Iraq to the family fully considered ethnic cleansing in a soft, under the pretext of saving minority of terrorism,” adding that “this will come to cover the failure of their policies in Iraq and not to hold them moral responsibility to support stability in Iraq after the occupation.”
Said Youkhana that “Christians in Iraq to stay in their own country and not immigration,” explaining that “immigration withdrawal from the arena and the loss of identity and immigrants are in the country of immigration for refugees, while here their identity and the role of history and the land.”
And called Youkhana, “the U.S. embassy and all the embassies to stop granting these visas” and urged “the Iraqi government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene and approached embassies and address this situation once and for all and review the situation of Christian families.” and pointed out that “to achieve this will give positive signals for the Christians in the whole of Iraq to ensure their rights constitutionally to ease the psychological pressure that they face in their home.”
It was Christians make up 3.1 percent of the population in Iraq, according to the census conducted in 1947, and numbered in the eighties between one million and two million people, and decreased this ratio due to migration during the period of the nineties and the subsequent wars and economic conditions and political poor, also migrated in large numbers of them abroad after 2003.
