Philippine Companies Are Preparing for the Opening of a Shopping Mall in Baghdad

Exporters’ Union expressed Filipinos forward for trade and investment opportunities in Iraq, while the Iraqi side expressed concerns the import of raw materials and finished products from his country, revealed his intention to open a shopping center in Baghdad.
The head of the Federation of Filipino exporters Philexport, Sergio اورتز, Lewis, in remarks quoted by the newspaper (The Philippine Star) yesterday and seen by (Presse term), that “Iraq is now considered a promising export destination and future partner of the Philippine projects.”
Lewis added, according to the newspaper, that “Iraq has become today, a market for Philippine exports,” adding that “Iraq expressed concerns the import of raw materials and finished products from the Philippines.”
The President of the Federation of Exporters Filipinos, that “products that wants Iraq to get them from the Philippines include electronics, auto parts and grains of all kinds as well as furniture and processed food and agricultural products, fresh, frozen, raw sugar and refined with edible oils, infant milk and tobacco leaf.”
According to Lewis, that “Iraq is also seeking to obtain technical assistance from companies Philippine joint ventures for the production of fertilizers and petrochemicals and manufacture of cigarettes, sugar, tires and raw rubber and cement,” stressing that “the Union intends to open a center for the products of the Philippines in Baghdad.”
The history of relations between Iraq and the Philippines dates back to 1975, where he was opening the Iraqi embassy in Manila, on 12.01.1975, while the Philippine Mission began its work in Baghdad on 19/09/1980.
The Republic of the Philippines quoted embassy from Baghdad to Amman, Jordan, as a temporary measure after 2003 with Iraq closed its embassy in Manila in September 2003, but the diplomatic relations of the two countries had not been interrupted.
In April 2010, the Iraqi government agreed to of Magnen graph Ambassador Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines in Baghdad, one of the diplomats, who previously worked in other Arab countries such as Kuwait and Libya, and 22/11/2006 has the reopening of the Iraqi embassy in Manila.
