US Treasury Affirms Its Support for the Development of the Banking and Financial Sector of Iraq

Baghdad, Iraqi Finance Minister Rafe Al-Issawi its US Ambassador to Iraq ended James Jeffrey and discuss economic issues in addition to current political conditions.
Financial said in a press statement today, received copy “that Al-Issawi met Jeffrey and a number of accompanying him from the US Treasury Department to mark the end of his duties in Baghdad.”
She pointed out that “the two sides reviewed the economic and financial matters relating to the work of the Ministry of Finance of Iraq.” “The parties reaffirmed the importance of developing the banking and financial sector in the country to support the US Treasury Department and the World Bank.”
Iraqi Finance Ministry noted in a statement that “the two sides discussed developments in the current political crisis, and stressed the need to resolve contentious issues between all the political components through constructive dialogue and away from nervous attitudes complicate the political process in Iraq”.
